Loudoun County is located just 25 miles from Washington, D.C. and is the home of Dulles International Airport. Loudoun County is Fastest Growing County in the United States and tops the list of the nation's fastest growing counties.

According to new figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, the county's population increased from an estimated 169,599 in April 2000 to 221,746 in July 2003. The additional 52,147 residents represent a 30.7 percent increase in population.

"The Census Bureau's numbers are a little higher than ours," said Clark Draper, the county's demographer. "But it's not unexpected or surprising that we're in the number one position, given that we've had another record year in terms of the number of building permits issued."

In fact, for the previous two years, the Census Bureau ranked Loudoun as the second fastest-growing county in the United States.
